Setting up things
If you are new to the wedding photography industry, what you should understand is the fact that when it all comes down to it, the biggest challenge is basically in setting everything up and more or less starting your career from scratch. There are so many things that you need to prepare for one way or the other. Your wedding photography gear makes up a pretty huge and important part in your career and that is what you will need to make sure that you are starting things off the right way by investing in all of the crucial photography gear and accessories at the end of the day. Money is oftentimes an issue for people who are starting out in the wedding photography industry so don’t be embarrassed if you come across this issue as well. You need to just more or less take all of this in stride. Practicality is the way to go during instances like these. One of the most basic shots that you will be taking in wedding photography are portrait shots or close up shots that you will need to take from a certain distance. One lens that will make your life and your work load so much easier is the telephoto lens. This lens is convenient to have especially during the wedding ceremony bit of the coverage. There will be instances wherein you will not be allowed to be right where the couple is in the altar but you will still need to take close up shots to make the coverage meaningful. A telephoto lens will allow you to zoom in from a respectable distance without disrupting the proceedings.
Another lens that you will most certainly need is a wide angle lens.
This lens will basically make the group shot taking process easy and pain free for you as much as possible. When you shoot the group shots behind any ordinary lens, you will have some trouble having all people fit into the view angle of the lens especially if you are dealing with particularly huge crowds. This is something that will not become too much of a problem if you shoot with a wide angle lens. This lens is also quite perfect to use for those architectural structural shots that are always quite difficult to shoot or those shots wherein you would need to life flat on the ground just to make them all fit in.
Of course, you will need a camera bag to help protect your wedding photography gear while you are on the move.
As a wedding photographer, you will be doing a lot of travelling and a lot of moving around, investing in a high quality camera bag is crucial to making sure that your wedding photography is protected and kept safe all of the time. Look for something that is made out of sturdy materials that can withstand rough handling as well as rough weather conditions as well because you might have some outdoor wedding photography shoots as well in the future.
